Reasons Not to Abandon Your Study Abroad Application

Money is an important issue if you consider an undergraduate program abroad or any other study abroad program. Studying abroad is quite expensive, but you already know that don’t you?

However, there are several ways around it. The first would be to select an institution in a city that’s cheaper to live in. There are lots of countries in Eastern Europe where you could study with a mild budget.  Poland, Bulgaria, and Russia are some countries in Eastern Europe where you could study for as cheap as 6,000 euros and still have an amazing study abroad experience without breaking your pocket.

Budget wise, countries like Germany, United Kingdom and the United States can be more expensive. But they are worth every penny you invest.  It’s just smart to live in a city where daily life is relatively cheap since it allows you have more money in your pocket to spend on other things.

You can also try to apply for scholarships. There are lots of scholarships out there you can apply for. Some are fully funded, and they cover all your expenses…from your school fees to your plane ticket, and a stipend all through your undergraduate study abroad program. Studying abroad can be that cheap!

It is quite understandable that you will miss your family and friends, and the love and comfort they provide when you are studying abroad. But an undergraduate study abroad program does not have to be an alone journey if you will open yourself to meet new people and learn new things. Even the most introverted person meets a few people now and then during their program abroad.

Don’t let homesickness or the fear of missing out be the reason you decide to put a stop to your study abroad plans. There’s a whole world of adventure waiting for you— you just have to go out there and explore!

During your undergraduate study abroad program, you’ll have a network of people who support you and a team that’s constantly on the lookout for you. Moreover, your family and friends will be waiting when you return.

The thought of leaving your friends and family behind can be hard, but it doesn’t mean you won’t talk to them for months. There are a lot of ways you can stay in touch with your family and friends these days—Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook, and many others. Although the time may be different, you’ll still be able to catch up with your folks anyways.

You will get a break! Though it may seem like you won’t have the time because studying abroad means you must study, you will still get some time on your hands to take that vacation. It is true you’ll be busy attending classes and working toward acquiring a degree, but you would still be just as busy as you would anywhere else.

You may not always have the time to take a vacation, and that’s okay. But you can still plan a vacation for a time you would be away from school, though it may be just for a few weeks.

Conclusively, there is so much you can get from studying abroad when it comes to your career. Employers don’t just want to know that you studied abroad, they want to know you actually lived abroad! It just says a lot about you and your drive, and that could earn you an opportunity to land your dream job.
